**Gap Personnel Group, operating as an employment business, are currently looking to recruit a Hygiene Coordinator for one our well-established clients based in Liverpool**

This is a permanent contract

The main objective of this role is to ensure that hygiene tasks are effectively assigned to the team and completed to a satisfactory standard, maintaining high Food Safety standards at all times.

An integral part of the site team, the Hygiene Coordinator is responsible for seeking ways to improve systems and techniques. They will also undertake ‘specialist tasks’ as appropriate and will provide guidance, support and training to other members of the Hygiene team.

Competitive salary of £27,500 - £30,000 depending on experience

Shift is Monday to Friday 8AM to 4:30PM

**Duties include**:

- Ensure all Hygiene work is carried out in accordance with Good Manufacturing Practice, Health and Safety Legislation and Allied Bakeries Site Standards.
- Conduct and coordinate departmental ‘Safety First’ audits including Walk and Talks.
- Organise the Hygiene team, delegate tasks and monitor performance against site standards.
- Through effective communication, and by providing training and support as necessary, ensure that the Hygiene team have the knowledge and skills to fulfill their responsibilities effectively.
- Identify areas of possible product contamination or potential risk to food safety and raise/action accordingly, escalating the issue to the Technical Manager where necessary.
- Carry out visual Hygiene and Food Safety checks on all plant and equipment after cleaning, recording in line with procedures and acting on any issues raised.
- Ordering and stock control of cleaning materials, safe storage and distribution of chemicals and chemical concentration testing.
- Environmental swabbing and results analysis, issuing corrective actions for mould control.
- Coordination of all on-site waste removal, liaison with pest control and other contractors.
- Continually review the methods and processes used in undertaking hygiene activities, constantly driving for greater efficiency and lower costs whilst maintaining/improving standards.
- Work closely with the Manufacturing and Engineering departments to align objectives and raise issues as appropriate.

**What we require**:

- Proven experience within a similar environment, preferably within food manufacturing.
- A recognised Food Hygiene qualification.
- Pest Control and Chemical Safety awareness are desirable.
- Computer literate; fully conversant with Microsoft Office including Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook.
- IOSH Managing Safely would be advantageous.
- Has the ability to work to consistently high standards and organise and prioritise tasks accordingly to the workload.
- Is a resilient individual who is also able to encourage and motivate others, as well as challenge where necessary.
- Has excellent analytical ability including strong numerical and verbal communication skills.
- Is someone who thrives under pressure, using initiative to solve problems.
