An ‘Outstanding’ rated specialist school is looking for an enthusiastic and personable SEN Teaching Assistant to join the team.

The school caters for students aged 3 - 19, with complex learning difficulties and learners with an additional diagnosis of autism and/or physical and sensory difficulties.

As a SEN Teaching Assistant, you will be working alongside a supportive and dedicated team of therapy staff and teachers, with a mission to inspire learning, through an enjoyable, interactive and creative curriculum.

As a SEN Teaching Assistant you will be working closely with the class teacher and therapists within a small class to provide individualised support for a specific student, as well as providing whole-class support in lessons. You will be targeting individualised learning approaches, emotional regulation and communication.

**Person Specification - SEN Teaching Assistant**
- **Experience working with SEN children - personal or professional**
- Passionate about making a difference for those with SEN
- Reliability and punctuality are a must
- Good understanding of child development and learning processes
- Awareness of safeguarding of children
- Ability to motivate and encourage pupils, inspire a love of learning
- Commitment to high expectations to meet the needs of all pupils with an individualised approach
- Ability to build good working relationships with children, teachers and parents and work well as part of a team
- Ability and confidence to work independently when required
- Strong academic background
- Hardworking, positive attitude, driven and committed
- Resilience and patience for supporting children with SEN
