**Research and Development Engineer**
Our client, one of the world’s leading Super-Yacht Electronics companies, based in Wymondham, is currently seeking a Research and Development Engineer to join their expanding Systems Engineering team.
Our client manufactures high-power electronic products to include Shore-Power converters and Energy-Storage systems. Specific products include Shore Power converters for ship to shore connections, CleanNet systems for power quality and Energy Storage Systemsfor energy saving and reduced environmental impact.
- Do you have power systems experience? - Power generation, rectifier/inverter topology.
- Are you able to read and interpret electrical schematics?
- Do you have general electrical design knowledge and/or electrical control switchgear knowledge?

As the R&D Engineer, you will contribute to the needs of the business by working within the systems engineering department and in a predominantly electronic hardware focused role.
**Job role** includes the following:
- Act as the product owner for the product range by continuing with the development cycle.
- Be the point of contact for all existing technical enquiries.
- Involved in the full engineering cycle of receiving delivery of the technical requirements for planning purposes, to developing or modifying the requirements.
- Product testing within a product factory test environment
- Read and interpret electrical schematics.
**Key requirements**:
- 3 phase 400v + 1 Phase 230v electrical theory and understanding of electronic components.
- Electrical test & commissioning experience - Ability to use test instruments, i.e. Oscilloscope, Spectrum Analyzer etc in order to analyse equipment performance
- Ability to generate technical documentation - i.e. functional design specification, user manuals etc.
**Desirable experience/knowledge**:
- Embedded firmware experience
- Product formal verification experience
- EMC product testing experience
- Gitlab software repository process
