Finance Assistant

Finance Assistant required for a well-established business based in Walsall on a full-time, permanent basis. Reporting into the Management Accountant, you will be responsible for supporting the Finance Team to carry out effective and timely processing ofall aspects of the financial accounts
**Key Responsibilities**
- Bank Reconciliations & maintaining the Cash book
- Approval of invoices
- Assisting with month end duties & producing sales reports
- Posting of journals
- Assisting the AP Assistant with invoice processing during busy periods
- Taking calls for the accounts department and answering supplier queries in a timely manner, this will include directing more technical queries to the appropriate responsible person.
- Raising Head Office orders whenever requested
- Obtain commitments to payment and to further monitor compliance with those commitments
- Identify invoices/accounts which are queried or disputed causing them to be withheld from payment
- Ad hoc tasks as requested by the Senior Management Accountant.
We are looking for an experienced all round Finance Assistant who is able to hit the ground running maintaining the purchase and sales ledgers with mínimal supervision. You must have high levels of accuracy and attention to detail, with the ability to meetdeadlines head-on particularly at month end. Excel skills (including pivot tables and VLOOKUPs) is essential.
The business are based in the office full time and the working hours are 8.30am til 5pm Monday-Friday with 1 hour for lunch.
