Head Housekeeper

**Main Duties and Responsibilities**:
- To lead a team ensuring all standards of cleanliness, infection prevention control and laundry are maintained in the home.
- Allocate and oversee area in terms of domestic duties required which would include Making beds,
thorough cleaning of bedrooms and bathrooms, cleaning floors, spot cleaning projects and also cleaning of communal areas.
- Supervise and direct the work of other housekeeping team members providing instruction and demonstration of applicable processes where required
- Order and control of required stock, cleaning products, cleaning items, equipment, in line with allocated budget, ensuring adequate stock levels are maintained at all times.
- Oversee Standard Operating Procedures relating to all cleaning activities, ensuring all team members adhere to SOP.
- Undertake audits and oversee quality assurance in regard to housekeeping standards.
- Oversee that all cleaning schedules are completed in both the timely and accurate manner.
- Oversee safe systems of work across the range of tasks and in particularly moving and handling of loads by assessing risk and having due regard for personal safety and the safety of people who live in the home visitors and team members
- Ensure that infection prevention and control policies and procedures are in place and followed at all times
- Reporting and record in line with policies and procedures and report/update Home Manager as agreed
- To provide all aspects of housekeeping within the Home
- To maintain a professional attitude within the Home towards all people who live and work in the home and visitors
- To maintain and implement the organisations Philosophy of Care
- To maintain and implement the organisations policies and procedures
- To undertake supervision of housekeeping team members including 1:1’s and appraisals.
- Monitoring stock levels of cleaning equipment and ordering as necessary within budgets.
- Maintaining effective and clear communication with other team members at all times
- Oversee the cleaning and appearance of the dining areas and supporting the care teams and residents as required.
- Respond to the requests of people living in the home while at work and ensure that any requirements are dealt with or communicated to the care team in order to ensure peoples needs are met.
- Completing current and appropriate Quality Assurance documentation
- To complete training and self-development in line with the requirements of the role eg. Health and Safety issues, particularly in respect of COSHH, safe moving and handling and working within the guidelines relating to cross infection.
- To attend and contribute to team meetings as required
- Any other duties deemed appropriate in conjunction with the Shift Supervisor/Home Manager
- To actively promote the independence, rights and choices of people living in the home.
