**About The Role**:
Working in Audit is all about holding a magnifying glass up to the different parts of our business and making sure that our financial accounts accurately reflect our actual performance. Simple, right?
As an internal auditor at AO you'll provide independent assurance and consultancy across the AO Group around risk management and the control environment.
Working closely and collaboratively with the wider team you'll deliver audits across the Group as per the risk-based Audit Plan agreed by the Audit Committee and Board.
**Here's What You Can Expect To Be Doing**:
- Complete audit engagements from planning and testing through to reporting as part of the approved Internal Audit Plan (across Finance, eCommerce/Retail, Logistics/Warehousing, Recycling, Health & Safety, People and Legal)
- Determining root causes for risk and control weakness to enable appropriate recommendations to be made
- Review agreed recommendations with audit stakeholders across the Group to ensure implementation
- Conducting peer reviews of audit files and reports prior to finalisation
- Input into the risk-based planning process to ensure that the Internal Audit Plan is appropriately targeted towards critical risks
- Assisting in the creation/ review of Internal Audit Key Risk Indicators
- Supporting on ad hoc audit activity including fraud investigations
- As required, nationwide travel to conduct audits at Logistics and Recycling sites
- Contributing to the continuous improvement of the Internal Audit function’s methodology
- Represent Internal Audit on strategic projects ensuring consideration to risk and control
- Participation in readiness work in advance of UK Reforms
**A Few Things About You**:
- Suitably experienced in internal audit, compliance or finance roles
- Completed or working towards professional qualifications including CIA, QIAL, CIMA or ACCA
- Strong oral and written communication skills
- Ability to analyse data/information and accurately interpret results
- Influencing skills and conflict management techniques
- Ability to remain independent and objective whilst maintaining a business partnering relationship with stakeholders
