Seafront Catering Supervisor

Our Seafront Service is responsible for the management and development of our beautiful world-renowned coastline, and we are looking for an enthusiastic, effective and committed officer to join our Seafront Catering Team.

Working directly with the Seafront Catering Manager, you would be responsible for overseeing the day-to-day operation of the Catering Service which is responsible for 24 sites including 2 cafes. Whilst not an exhaustive list, the focus of this role will be related to:

- Ensuring sites are fully operational on a daily basis
- Making sure all Health & Safety and Food Hygiene requirements are in place and adhered to
- Assisting the Catering Manager with staff recruitment and inductions
- Delivering excellent service
- Ensuring all admin and HR requirements are fulfilled

This is a unique opportunity requiring a special individual who enjoys working in a mutually supportive and collaborative team environment but also can work well on their own initiative.

Ideally you will have:

- experience of working in a large-scale seasonal catering or hospitality environment.
- experience of managing and motivating a large team of staff and handling customer communications and complaints
- A full and valid driving licence
- Food and Hygiene Level 2 qualification

You must have a positive and flexible outlook, be highly motivated, can learn quickly with a desire to develop, and are passionate about delivering excellent services.

You would be expected to work 5 in 7 days, including weekends and bank holidays. No holidays are to be taken in June, July & August.

Interviews will be held on 18 March 2025 only at BCP Council Civic Offices, Bournemouth BH2 6DY. Interviews will be in person.

As a result of the creation of BCP Council in 2019, we are working on simplifying our terms and conditions of service and will be creating a single pay structure which is to be applicable for all employees. It is important to us that we offer benefits that our colleagues value as part of their total employment package and we are reviewing these to make sure we have it right. We have been in a process of collective bargaining since 2019 and have positively worked forward to reach an agreed position with the unions for the new contractual offer. This has taken longer than we hoped and therefore we are having to consider all alternative avenues available to enable us to remove inequality in the organisation as a result of bringing together 3 councils.

We are in the process of establishing a timescale for implementation, and all colleagues joining us will be included in these changes. We want to reassure everyone that whichever route is taken to reach the new terms and conditions, we can honour continuous service and there will not be any job reduction as a result of the implementation of Pay and Reward.
