Working within our Waste Recycling department, you have the chance to join the team as an Operational Maintenance Technician. This is a fantastic opportunity for a skilled industrial/utilities engineer to work within our Waste Recycling team across the Derbyshirearea. The role will consist of the operating of and carrying out the direct planned and breakdown maintenance on a wide range of assets. You must have sound diagnostic and problem-solving skills. Basic fabrication skills along with good general knowledge ofworkshop practice would be desirable.
The role holder will work on a variety of sites from large, manned sites to smaller sites in a rural setting. You will be provided with a vehicle, mobile phone, laptop and safety clothing appropriate to the job.This position offers an opportunity to be partof a forward thinking operational & maintenance team working with a range of different assets designed to protect the environment and produce high quality effluent.
The role will include lone working therefore, you need to be self-motivated and be able to assess issues and make decisions on how to deal with them safely. Good communication skills are key as you may be first response to customer issues such as noise orodour complaints.

- Ensure the Health and Safety of yourself, colleagues, visitors and members of the public.
- Carry out routine tasks associated with operation and maintenance of sewage treatment works and sewage pumping stations. Operate treatment equipment, diagnose, repair and report on faulty equipment.
- Undertake onsite process sampling and laboratory analysis.
- Process data capture and involvement in the day to day maintenance of all assets.
- Getting involved with the site energy efficiency and optimisation plan to further benefit the business and environment.
- Maintain effective communication with colleagues and other departments.
- Interact with all aspects of major capital investment programs and aid in commissioning and delivery
- Minimise the number of non-operational assets at Sewage Treatment Works and Sewage Pumping Stations.
- Comply with Statutory and Company policies and procedures.
**WHAT WE’RE LOOKING FOR**
To be a success in this role we are looking for experience in general mechanical maintenance and operating plant or processes. Having wastewater treatment process knowledge would be advantageous and a full UK driving licence is required for the role.
