To ensure the consistent delivery of a high standard of care to residents. Ensuring that staff on duty is working towards the person centred fulfilment of the residents emotional and physical well-being at every occasion. To ensure good effective service within the home and the wider community.
Main duties and responsibilities:
- To act a role model and support the knowledge and skills of the staff and to support team members on duty.
- To demonstrate high standards of care ensuring that these are monitored and maintained when on duty.
- To lead handovers that are detailed including changes to residents needs or request and answer clearly and effectively questions are answered in a timely fashion to support the staff in their roles.
- To act with professional and personal integrity when liaising with residents and next of kin and any other support agencies as part of effective support team
- To ensure shifts are covered to meet the shift needs for the skills knowledge and experience to provide a high standard of care on each shift, and to cover sickness and training absences as required.
- To support new staff when on duty with their induction, support and supervision as requested by the Homes Managers and to ensure that this is evidenced to ensure the ongoing improvement of staff and the Home.
- To ensure that the daily diary requirements are met and recorded appropriately to ensure the continuity of the Home. To ensure that all records are completed accurately within role including finance, health and safety, staff and residents records.
- To address any issues or needs arising at the home and to access the support of the Deputy or Managers as appropriate.
- To be responsive to the resident medical needs and to contact the relevant agencies in a timely manner and to ensure that all resident records are kept and the next of kin kept informed of changes.
- To administer medication accurately and consistently as prescribed and order medication as appropriate for interim needs. To follow all training requirements and the homes medication policy and the care Quality Commission regulatory guidance. To ensure all records are correct and report and record any non-compliance to the deputy manager and/or care home manager.
- To ensure that you follow, record and understand a resident’s care plan records and risk assessments and follow this accordingly.
- To report any safeguarding concerns accurately immediately and in compliance with training and the homes policy.
- To participate in the admission, care planning and discharge of any resident as requested.
- To ensure that you work in line with the Homes policies on health and safety and work to high professional practice following all training and the Heath and Safety at Work Act, and Care Quality Commission guidance and Equality Act 2010.
- To observe confidentiality at all times. To act with both personal and professional integrity and respect for others at all times, when liaising with the residents family and external support agencies and when working as part of the Penrice House team.
- To ensure that your practice and your work is within the principles laid out in The Health and Safety at Work guidance, Care Quality Commission regulatory guidance, Equality Act 2010 regulations and Data Protection Act 2018.
- You are required to undertake statutory and mandatory training and development, along with regular supervision time and meetings to maintain your role
Hold a current Diploma Level 3 or equivalent.
**Job Type**: Part-time
**Salary**: £15.30-£30.60 per hour
