An energetic Community Engagement Assistant is needed to join the team at the UK's outstanding Black British Theatre Company based in Croydon.

This is a 2-year contractual role, with an option for renewal. You will be working 16 hours per week, including a lunch break of 1 hour, worked over 2 days from Tuesday to Thursday.

Additional hours may be necessary to fulfill the requirements of the post, including evenings and weekends, and travel out of London when required.

**Salary**: £22,000 - £24,000 per annum pro rata depending on experience

**About the Theatre**

The Theatre Company's purpose is to champion Black Excellence in theatre, to nurture talent in emerging and established artists of African or Caribbean heritage, and to tell inspirational and passionate stories reflecting Black experiences through art.

Mounting more than fifty productions over their 36-year history, they present the traditional canon of British theatre alongside international work and new plays.

**Key Responsibilities**:

- Providing assistance to the Community Engagement Producer with day-to-day administration for their community engagement programmes
- Your role will be to support the delivery of a local community archiving initiative
- This involves administrative and logístical support for a series of workshops, artist commissions, and local exhibitions, and creatively deepening and expanding local engagement
- Your role will support launching early years work in collaboration with partner organisations
- This involves administrative and logístical support in developing this new programme, developing their approach to working with early years, and growing long-term engagement with families
- Your role will be to manage their online platform that brings Black artists and theatre-makers together to cultivate relationships with their peers and the wider theatre industry
