**Senior/Principal Design Engineer**

**We are looking to recruit an innovative, forward thinking Design lead in our Reading Engineering Team.**
PJA are one of the leading independent transport, engineering and placemaking specialists in the UK, with offices in Birmingham, Bristol, Cambridge, London, Manchester and Reading.
We provide expert advice on a wide range of projects across the UK and beyond from new settlements and nationally strategic infrastructure projects, through to urban regeneration schemes and a wide range of education, employment and sports and leisure developments.

We are looking to recruit an experienced Senior/Principal Design Engineer to take a leading role in helping to deliver a varied range of schemes including active travel schemes, public realm, and highway schemes within one of the UK’s leading independent consultancies.
For the right individual, this is an excellent opportunity to help develop a strategically important sector of the business. PJA is currently engaged in a number of exciting projects from highway improvement and access projects through to city wide regenerationand major active travel corridors.
They will also have:

- Knowledge of adoption agreements for roads and drainage (including S278, S38 & S104)
- Experience of negotiations with highway and planning authorities to agree proposed designs
- The ability to produce technical reports and design specification the ability to produce and review fee proposals
- Experience of the financial management and control of projects and working knowledge of different contract types and procurement options.
