HPL is an exciting new managed healthcare services organisation, and has been created to transform the delivery of interventional, support and facilities services to the Royal Surrey County Hospital Trust and other potential customers. The aim is to deliver significant operational, quality and financial benefits in procurement, contracts, medical equipment and servicing, through a full managed service provision. HPL is a wholly owned subsidiary of the Royal Surrey and a new business model which we want to develop as a leading service provider in its field.
Healthcare Partners Ltd (HPL) delivers fully managed services, including supply chain, procurement medical equipment, technical servicing and consultancy services to healthcare providers. HPL was launched in April 2018 and now has an annual turnover of over £50m and approximately 80 staff**.**
We are therefore looking for a Clinical Procurement Specialist to join our procurement delivery team, as a result of this new model. This is an exciting opportunity for those wanting to work as part of a successful progressive and supportive team. The role will provide expert specialist clinical advice in the support of the strategic review of all clinical products and medical equipment within both this newly awarded project and a mix of Acute Trust activity.
The Clinical Procurement Specialist facilitates clinical activities and projects designed to assist clinical and support services in decision making for research, development, implementation, and on-going management of appropriate and safe clinical products this will include working with multi-disciplinary teams to emit back orders and discontinued consumables. The Clinical Procurement Specialist consults over a wide range of specialities in the assessment of clinical products and equipment and assists in the assessment of clinical products and equipment for the collaborative procurement hubs, national procurement network, government and professional bodies.
The function is changing and this is the right time to join the business and be part of our development. You will work in a fast paced commercial function and you will be responsible for the day to day clinical change. We are fundamentally looking for strong clinical leaders with a can do positive attitude who can make change and put customers at the heart of everything we do. Ideally, we would like someone that has clinical procurement experience and is comfortable with some areas of procurement practice but this is not essential.
The role is full time (37.5 hours per week) but we are open and supportive to flexible hours and or reduced hours from 37.5 hours.
We are seeking a natural influencer that has both a commercial and a strong clinical background.
You will be accountable and responsible for
- Represent regional health economy at a national level on all aspects of clinical / functional programs and procurement strategies.
- Working within the Clinical procurement Team and strategic procurement team on best practice and transformational projects
- Building Strong relations with NHSSC Business partners and end users within the trust
- Advise on sustainable alternatives to help towards NHS pledge to be net zero by 2040
- Advises on and supports local clinical purchasing activity and clinical change both within the Trust and within the region as part of the new contract
Ideally you will be educated to English and Mathematics to O/GCSE level or equivalent or good standard of education, with a clinical qualification. In addition you will have a broad knowledge of healthcare products/procedures and a background in working in a clinical department and environment.
You will possess:
- Experience of working in a customer service environment
- Experience of working in a commercial team
- Experience of managing and leading clinical change
- Experience of being part of a clinical change group
- Ideally a nursing or equivalent background
A willingness to be flexible team player and to be prepared to cover other areas to your normal responsibilities at times of holiday or sickness is essential.
