About the role**:
The role will be to provide passive fire protection inspections and assessments, including fire performance characteristics from manufacturer’s literature, certification and interpretation of test reports. This is so compliance, or extent of non-compliance, with the statutory requirements can be established for the completion of reports on FRAEW, EWS1 and other fire related inspection-based duties. This will involve site visits and interaction with contractors and installers for projects across the UK and for a variety of building types.

Reporting directly to the Principal Fire Surveyor, you will be expected to organise and programme your own workload to meet the demands of a fast-paced project delivery timescale.

- Skilled in conducting fire risk assessments and advising on tailored fire safety strategies for a range of building types and uses.
- Possess a strong analytical mindset to evaluate complex scenarios, identify potential fire hazards, and propose effective mitigation measures.
- Experienced in determining fire risks associated with buildings and protection systems, and recommending practical, compliant solutions.
- Practical knowledge of building materials and construction systems, with proficiency in interpreting engineering drawings, specifications, and method statements to assess fire safety performance.
- Capable of identifying fire hazards, assessing associated risks, and recommending reasonable upgrades to improve fire safety in both design and operational phases.
- Experienced in inspecting construction projects and verifying the quality and compliance of fire protection systems, including fire doors, fire stopping, and other passive fire safety measures.
