But that’s not why we really love it, Craigies is one close-nit BIG happy family running a farm to the best of our ability, growing amazing fresh food, selling it to our fantastic customers in the farm shop and transforming it onto plates in the restaurant Don’t get me wrong, we’re busy but we wouldn’t have it any other way If you get bored of human company, there are lots of friendly farm animals, happy to share your lunch in return for a natter and they don’t speak back to you.
**Team Leader / Shift Leader job description**
At Craigies our team take pride in creating exceptional farm style dishes using traditional techniques and the finest sustainable ingredients. Delivering ‘best in class’ service is our goal and we are looking for seasoned professionals to help us sculpt and train our team to achieve this.
**What’s in a day?**
You’ll live and breathe creating an amazing experience for our guests, putting quality of service and product above all else. Everything you do will be helping us elevate our brand. You’ll report directly into our Restaurant Manager, and you will have a strong focus on developing and building your team to further better our operation.
You need to comfortable and effective working as part of a team and independently. This role requires a self-starter, who is always on the lookout for ways to improve their existing work or to discover new opportunities. This is a busy environment perfect for those who enjoy a role where you’ll be entrusted with multiple projects and where every day will be different.
This is a service-based role, and you need to be at home leading the team, delivering best in class experiences.
**What things can I expect to be involved in?**
- developing and improving the bar team will be a major focus - we want to be an employer of choice where people knock on our door because they want to work with us.
- responsible for staff weekly planning. Ensure that all staff are punctual, and the company standards are always adhered to. Ensure that briefings and handovers are carried out for each shift. Communicate and delegate duties to the team, guide, coach, and support staff during service.
- monitor feedbacks, agree and implement actions to continuously improve guest experience and satisfaction.
- be aware of any legal requirements regarding weights and measures, licensing laws, health and safety and fire procedures, ensuring these are always adhered to, communicating to the team their responsibilities within H&S, ensure a safe workplace, identify maintenance activity required to uphold standards.
**What hours will I work?**
We are only open during the daytime (with the very, very rare evening event) and most our team will work an average of 35-40 hours per week, at certain times of the year you may be asked to work more but you will be paid for every hour you are at work.

**What qualifications do I need?**
Ideally you will possess the following, but all our team undergo compliance training to tick all these boxes whilst they work with our teams.
- Health and safety and food hygiene certificates / Allergen Awareness
**Who would it suit?**
You’ll be someone who performs well under pressure and recognises the importance of motivating & leading junior members of staff who may also be working under pressure.
- At least 2 years’ experience in a commercial service focused operation, restaurant or similar (essential)
- Be familiar working within a hospitality environment
- Quick learner who is detail-oriented
- Proficiency in operations, including coffee preparation
- Knowledge of food safety regulations and best practices
- Familiarity with restaurant operations and coffee making techniques
- Ability to follow direction accurately and consistently
- Strong time management skills to ensure timely completion of tasks
Pay: £12.00 per hour
Expected hours: 35 - 40 per week
