**Job Advert**

Female support worker required to assist a mature lady with daily living tasks in the Coatbridge area.

You would be required to provide one to one care and assistance within their home and in the community including prompting personal care and support to attend social activities and personal appointments. Your duties would involve assisting with tasks such as:

- Prompting personal care needs.
- Assisting with medication
- Preparing meals and healthy snacks
- Weekly shopping
- Walking and general exercise, assisting with participation in these physical activities
- General Housework
- Support pets’ basic needs (cat litter tray, grooming, food etc)
- Support to attend mass on a Sunday.
- Any other daily living tasks to promote independent living

Driver not essential however must be willing to travel on public transport.

The role requires close personal contact with an individual who is extremely vulnerable to the risk of infection and disease transmission. Preference may be given to applicants who have been fully vaccinated against Covid-19. Careful consideration will be given to applicants who can show the vaccination is not suitable for them on reasonable grounds. Mum has COPD, Asthma.

Must take a proactive and innovative approach to support and encourage individual to be involved in activities suited to their needs.

Pets in the household - you must be comfortable with a cat (ragdoll) -sheds fur.

Experience is required but not essential as training will be provided.

The most important qualities are a warm and friendly nature and a desire to work within a caring role. Empathy and understanding of fluctuating mental health. Good communications skills and ability to motivate and encourage. Must be patient and reliable.

Good interpersonal and communication skills are essential.

**Hours of Work (with a degree of flexibility)**

Recruiting for 1 permanent support worker and one sessional position. Must be flexible.

Guaranteed permanent position of 20 hours per week

**Days and times**:
Set shifts at set times OR weekly rota

Typically - Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday, Friday, 10.30 - 1pm - 4.30pm - 7pm

Occasional weekends and evenings may be required - to be discussed at interview

**Hourly rate: £12.00**
