**Head of Department**

**Location**:Poole

**Starting Salary**:Up to £50,000 DOE with Up to £15,000 Bonus opportunity**,**with extra benefits such as a car allowance.

**Hours**:Monday to Thursday - Between 8am - 6pm, Friday between 8am-5pm

**The purpose of the Head of Department**:
Leading and managing the Departmental P&L for our clients Beauty & Aesthetics Scheme business. The Department consists of 50+ FTE across teams of Sales, Customer Service and Renewals to meet agreed pre-defined individual and team KPI's for income, customersatisfaction, complaints, and compliance. To ensure service standards are delivered in terms of providing advice to clients, providing new business and renewal quotations for sole traders and SME business, and securing the business.

Developing and managing a pipeline of new business leads and renewal book, maximising conversion levels through implementation of robust and consistent sales processes. Developing cross sales opportunities by highlighting appropriate products which meetclients risk profile and exposure.

Managing income and costs in-line with agreed Departmental budgets.

Build a positive culture of success, with customer centricity at its core, maximising conversion, and customer satisfaction levels.

**The responsibilities of the Head of Department**:

- Manage the Departmental P&L to achieve agreed income & EBITDA objectives
- Create and implement a sales/retention action plan(s) to achieve agreed financial, conversion and customer centricity metrics
- Oversee and manage pipeline of leads, forecasting accurately and regularly to ensure sufficient volume and quality
- Setting Activity and Revenue targets across the sales and retention teams.
- Develop strong relationships with Insurers and Underwriters, understanding appetites, classes and specific niche sectors
- Develop consistent and compliant processes, continually Identifying areas of improvement
- Identify and evaluate new market and cross-sale opportunities
- Manage, review, develop and coach the Management Team ensuring that objectives are aligned, performance metrics are set, communicated, and reviewed and that individual performance reviews are carried out
- Lead and inspire the department through positive and active communication and engagement.
- Support Leadership Team in development and delivery of strategic business plan.

**Needed for the role of Head of Department**:

- Essential to the role is a proven experience of management responsibilities in an insurance environment
- Hands-on, inspirational leader who can motivate and coach others to deliver great customer experience
- Strong people management skills
- Proven experience in managing managers to exceed KPI's and SLA's
- Experience of using effective multi-channel customer services communication systems
- Comfortable with, and driver of change
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Proven budget and P&L experience
- Attract, hire and retain high performing talent
- Ensure the fair treatment of Customers is made the priority and, in respect of all business activities undertaken, that the principles of Treating Customers Fairly are actively considered and acted upon.
