We are recruiting Duty Supervisors to join our dedicated, friendly and professional team at our Edinburgh Youth Hostel.

**About the role**:
Duty Supervisors will supervise day-to-day operational management of our hostel to ensure that we deliver high standards in all areas of our hostel activities and guests interactions so that our guests will have memorable and enjoyable experience with us.

Night Duty Supervisors will be at the heart of our night time operation, providing overnight supervision, and health and safety and security of our guests, team members and the building during the night as well as maximising sales opportunities through retail and drink service at night.

You will:

- Provide professional, efficient and effective day-to-day business hostel management and deputise General Manager in their days off and on holidays.
- Keep the General Manager and Duty Manager informed on a regular basis and report any incidents you deal with or involve in during the night clearly and accurately, including accidents, incidents, complaints. Also report any needs for repairs or maintenance to the appropriate department or management ensuring the proper paperwork is carried out.
- Ensure all duties are carried out in accordance with night duty checklists such as handling night cash-up, bed plans, laundry duties, nightly cleaning, security walks around the hostel and preparing the dining room for breakfast service.

**Ideally suitable applicant will have**:

- Worked successfully in a customer facing role, preferably in similar hospitality surroundings with a passion and commitment towards excellent customer service standards
- Excellent, confident communication skill with an inspirational approach to interacting with people, and ability to work as team and without supervision.
- Experience in dealing with fire evacuation procedures.
- Flexible, ‘can-do’ attitude and adaptable approach to work to changing workload and priorities during busy times to support colleagues.

Good level of management and leadership skills, experience of night working or as a night duty supervisor including fire and emergency evacuation safety procedures, and being a personal licence holder would be advantageous.

You will be part of a relatively small close knit team. It is therefore essential that all members are capable and willing to support and respect each other, maintaining team morale to create a positive environment for both guest and employee experience.
