Here at Hitachi Rail we have a fantastic opportunity for an experienced Welder to join our Technical Welding team based from our Newton Aycliffe factory as a **Deputy Responsible Welding Coordinator Level A **This is a critical role within the business and will work alongside the Responsible Welding Coordinator A to manage all welding activities ensuring compliance to the correct standard is always maintained.
As the **Deputy Responsible Welding Coordinator Level A **you will be responsible for managing and leading all external and internal audits in the weld facility, ensuring compliance to all relevant standards alongside management of non-conformance and any corrective actions.

**About you **
Applicants should be able to demonstrate all of the essential requirements listed below:
Skills & Experience
- Vast prior hands on welding experience
- Prior experience working in a RWC role
- Significant knowledge of welding aluminium
- Experience of working to the ISO 14731 weld standard
- Previous involvement in large and complex projects
- The ability to work on own initiative, a self-starter willing to take responsibility for delivery of goals and objectives
- Proven ability to multi task and work across production, engineering and quality departments
- Excellent analytical and communication skills
- Subject matter expert in welding and fabrication
**Qualifications**
- Welding qualification
- CSWIP 3.1 or above
- Proficient in Microsoft Office
**Desirable**
- IWT International Welding Engineer Qualification
- PCN Level 2, in Ultrasonic, Radiography, Magnetic particle & Dye penetrant testing and Radiographic interpretation
**Role responsibilities include**
- Deputy Responsible weld co-ordinator for the facility
- Manage and lead all external and internal audits in the weld facility, ensuring compliance to all relevant standards
- Management of non-conformance and any corrective actions
- Conduct routine process audits within production areas to investigate defect trends and facilitate Improvements.
- Management and control of sub-contract activities to ensure the work is executed efficiently and to the correct standard.
- Utilising previous experience support the teams in developing MIG and TIG welding
- Develop the distortion control capability of the teams
- Managing new projects; overseeing new product introductions working with the relevant design authority
- Will interact with the global organisation to utilise resources when required.
- Responsible for the leadership of weld activities across the site
- Development and review of weld procedure specifications.
- Responsible for all weld equipment and selection of weld consumables and materials.
- Provide technical support and guidance for all welding related requirements.
- Provide specialist Welding Engineering support required to deliver project in line with budget.
- Ensure projects are planned, reviewed and delivered on time and within budget
- Build and develop the wider operational team to deliver all aspects of the project/contract requirements.
- Working with the Quality team on final inspection and control of records and traceability of welds
- Supporting the production team with the planning and execution of welds identifying any areas for improvement.
- Responsible for effective client relationship management, collaborative approach and providing updates to internal and external stakeholders on project/contract progress.
