Cornwall, United Kingdom Cornwall Council Full time

**Specialist Contact Worker x 2 positions available**

Specialist Contact Workers provide important opportunities for children of all ages not living with their families to spend time together.

This role presents a rewarding opportunity to work with a wide range of children from birth to 16 years, therefore good knowledge and understanding of child development and well-being is essential. You will be required to support and encourage the child/ren to spend positive time with their parents and significant others in a safe environment, or out in the community depending on the family’s needs. Your role will be to observe, offer support and guidance, using evidence

Your recorded observations will inform the assessments and decision making of the social worker and can be used in the court arena. You will work with a multi-disciplinary approach with the common goal of ensuring “Get2gether” time is in the best interest of the child/ren. You will work as part of a team of Contact Workers and as part of the wider children and family service. This role will require you to be flexible with your hours, responsive to the needs to the child/ren and their families, and to be able to drive to various locations and to transport some children to and from their get2gethers.
