Located within York’s city walls and with views of York Minster, the hotel holds an enviable and proud position in the city and local community. Once the famed Headquarters of the North-eastern Railway Company, our magnificent building is bursting with original features and all the grandeur of its former life as the “Palace of Business” - making it a truly beautiful and inspiring place to work and grow.

The Grand, York is proud to be Yorkshire’s only five-star hotel, and we’re currently looking for an exceptional Doorman to join our Front of House team. Reporting to the Head Concierge, you will play a key role in delivering a warm, authentic Yorkshire welcome and providing our guests with a memorable first impression.

Key Responsibilities:
Be the first point of contact for guests arriving at the hotel, offering a professional and friendly greeting.
Maintain the smooth and efficient operation of the hotel entrance.
Assist guests with vehicles, including helping them in and out of cars or taxis.
Handle the accurate, courteous delivery and collection of luggage, parcels, and mail.
Safely park and retrieve guest vehicles as required.
Provide local knowledge and recommendations to enhance the guest experience.
Uphold the highest standards of appearance and customer service at all times.
What We're Looking For:
A genuine passion for hospitality and guest service.
A confident, friendly personality with excellent communication skills.
A proactive, hands-on approach and a strong sense of teamwork.
A full UK driving licence is essential.
Previous experience in a similar front-facing role is desirable, but not essential.
A good knowledge of York and the surrounding area would be a distinct advantage.
