We believe that through this approach and a combination of technical excellence and high quality service we can develop long-lastingpartnerships and become our client's solicitor of choice. **Purpose of Job**: Due to promotion within the Finance team at Birketts LLP, we are recruiting a forward thinking Financial Controller, the role is offered on a full time permanent basis, Ipswich based with hybrid working. The FC will be accountable to manage the firms accounting operations, producing periodic financial reports, maintaining systems of accounting records and management and oversight of the day to day running of the Finance team. **Accountabilities**: - Manage and oversee the day to day running of the Finance Team including payroll - Responsible for production of monthly management accounts for Board submission - Responsible for monthly budget variance analysis to provide budget holders with relevant and easy to use information - Production of key metrics information for monthly Board meetings - Responsible for production of annual statutory accounts - Manage the annual external audit and liaise with auditors on best practice throughout the year - Manage the annual budgeting process - Submission of government returns, e.g. VAT and payment practices - Liaising with business partners re e.g. insurance renewals - Champion for Business Intelligence tool (Katchr) to continually enhance the user experience - Partner with the FD to drive efficiencies for the business using the Practice Management System (Aderant Expert and Katchr) as the key tools. **Qualifications /Skills**: - ACA/ACCA/CIMA qualified - Previous people management experience - Previous Law firm or other professional services experience preferred but not essential - Technical excellence in the production of partnership accounts - A manager of people who is able to motivate both team members and peers alike. - A proven record in "getting the best" out of IT - An individual who is prepared to roll their sleeves up and get involved where necessary.
