We have exciting opportunities for a **Lead Planner** to join our growing planning team in **Rugby**

**About the role**:
you will be responsible for both strategic and day to day Transport Planning for multiple Hubs. The Hub Transport Planning Lead will lead and support a team of planners in creating, executing and reviewing transport plans. In this role you will work closely with other departments to ensure transport plans are achievable, cost effective and deliver a premium service.

The Transport Planning Lead is a key role within our Planning and Operations department. Reporting to the Hub Transport Manager, your role will be an intrinsic link between hubs, transport & depots, building and maintain strong working relationships.

Proactive in identifying changes in activity with our clients and within our own network, the lead will be analytical and have an eye for detail and a questioning nature. The Lead will effectively adapt planning and assist in the review of Hub and Depot activities for changes and events, for example by process, bank holidays, peak plans and product changes and implementation of new site start-ups.

**You will be accountable for**:

- Produce Hub Transport plans using transport planning software
- Continual review and improvement of transport plan templates to ensure cost effectiveness and optimal resource utilisation
- Provide leadership and support to hub planners using your experience of Planning systems and hub operations
- Work closely with multiple teams to maintain service and confidence in plans, challenging when necessary.
- Build a weekly high view trunk forecast to publish to the network
- Continuously drive improvement on the accuracy of plans
- Compile plan vs actual data, statistics and reports, evidencing challenges to operational teams to ensure plans remain effective
- Provide cost analysis on potential new transport activity and model business change for area of responsibility
- Create peak hub transport plans, ensuring capacity and cost efficiency is assured for area of responsibility.
- Run business reports when required
