Overview:
**Change Grow Live** are a charity dedicated to the belief that we can make a difference to our Service Users lives, offering support and respect in a safe environment, treating each user as an individual and working with them to find the right treatment and care options.

We are looking to recruit a Senior Recovery Worker to join our Wirral Ways Team, working with Adults across Wirral with Alcohol and Substance misuse issues and working with GPs and Pharmacies.

The Role is to support people who are using opiate based pain medication, this may be over the counter opiate based medication, prescribed opiates from GPs or illicit opiate based pain medication and act as a practice lead for this area developing interventions tailored to these groups and working closely with GPs and Pharmacies to develop this project.

This is an outstanding opportunity for an individual with a background in substance misuse to become a practice lead for this area with a focus on opiate based pain medication and develop this area of support and to become a key member of a passionate and committed team supporting people in recovery.

**Where**:Wirral, Merseyside

**Hours**:37.5 per week

**Salary**: £31,529,41 to £33,708.58 CGL Point 28-30 dependent on experience.

**Contract Type**: Permanent

**Responsibilities**:
**About the role**:

- Be the designated Opiate Pain management Lead for the Service alongside clinicians.
- Identify, and engage with, people who have substance misuse problems with complex physical and / or mental health needs, including co-morbidity.
- Work with GP surgeries and Pharmacies to support them by providing advice, training and develop pathways to support these groups.
- Carry out comprehensive assessments and develop recovery plans that clearly identify how they will enable progression in addressing substance use.
- Have responsibility of a caseload of people who use opiate based pain medications and support them through their recovery journey.
- Support the Team leader with management activities i.e. team meetings, service development and service promotion.
- Engage in regular consultation with service users to maintain the quality of the service, supporting staff by encouraging service user engagement
- Provide health education especially regarding harm minimisation, blood borne viruses and overdose prevention
- Ensure that all aspects of confidentiality are adhered to.

**About you**:

- Excellent knowledge and understanding of drug and alcohol issues and experience of working within a related field
- An understanding of addiction to prescribed opiate based medications and experience of working with people who have experienced this.
- Knowledge and experience of multi-agency working and establishing partnerships with other professions to achieve good outcomes for the service user group
- Ability to communicate complex information to individuals and groups in a way that is easily understood
- Written and verbal communication skills and a high degree of personal IT competency.
- Experience of managing a specialised caseload
- Experience of developing and delivering group work sessions for service users and training to other professionals.
- Excellent team working and interpersonal skills, maintaining a highly cooperative approach to supporting colleagues in delivering service objectives.
