**About the role**

Would you like the benefits of a Marine role without long periods of time at sea?

An exciting opportunity has arisen at Shoreham Port for a Coxswain/Assistant Lockmaster. You will be responsible for the safe transfer of colleagues to and from the pilot cutter and for its maintenance. As a Coxswain/Assistant Lockmaster you will be working as part of a close-knit team on a tidal shift pattern. You will have a chance to work in the heart of Marine Operations, Harbour Radio and assisting Lockmasters with operational requirements. If you have Port/Seafaring/Marine operations background and practical knowledge of the Port Marine Safety Code, our Marine Team would love to hear from you.

Shoreham Port operates 24/7 365 days of the year within a fascinating and complex marine environment, where no two days are the same Shoreham Port is ideally situated on the south coast of England to offer support to vessels, owners, agents, and crews using one of the busiest shipping lanes in the world. Our Marine Team offer a range of maritime services to merchant and fishing vessels, as well as bed levelling, towage support and diving services.

**Key Skills**
- Port/Seafaring/Marine operations background
- RYA Powerboat Advanced Certificate - Commercially endorsed - or higher certification
- Diesel engine knowledge
- ENG1 medical certificate
- Technical knowledge of the Port Marine Safety Code
- Enthusiasm
- Team player
- Applicants will need to hold a driving license
