**Youth Support Worker**

Masterclass are working with a vibrant School setting in the Worthing area, who are looking for a Youth Support Worker to join their Secondary department.

I work with an amazing bunch of inspiring people, who all have the same aim: to nurture educational needs for children whatever the child’s circumstance. You are supported and training is always current and ongoing.

My week is mostly working independently, 1;1 visit with students who are at risk of exclusion from mainstream schools, liaising with teaching staff, pastoral, and heads of year, attending meetings, supporting parents, and planning next steps for each student. Recorded keeping is important, as well as a good sense of humour I get to be creative every day and as a team ** inclusion staff come together to share and support ideas to progress our work with young people and the challenges they face.

**This is a long-term role (full academic year and beyond)**

**Job role**:

- To support the students development across all areas of their schooling
- Support and encourage positive behaviour management
- Work with groups of students or individuals (1-1) to support the class teachers in specific lessons.
- Ensure a safe and secure environment enabling pupils to feel relaxed and happy
- To establish positive relationships with the students and staff within the school
- To be committed to inclusive practice and making sure every student has the chance to be the best they can be

**Must**:

- Be a confident communicator**
**- Be resilient**

**-Have GCSE English and Maths to C Grade (Talk to us if you haven't)**
**- Be happy to obtain a DBS**

- Ability to work well independently and as a team

- A DBS on the Updates Service, or be willing to obtain one
