**Personal Assistant (Self Employed), CB21**

**£11 per hour**

About the client
A man in early twenties with physical disability, powered wheelchair dependent. Intelligent and speaks very well. Active and plays wheelchair sport regularly and participates in competitions.Hours & rate of payRequires personal care support everyday (visits on rotation with other support worker) including some weekends. Hours range from 2 to 4 hrs per day. Additional hours may be required occasionally.Self-employed worker, rate of pay £11 per hour.For sport trainings/competitions away (which may include overnight stay at hotel), rate to be negotiable.

Job description
Physical support of full personal care in getting up & ready for the day in the morning, and to bed at night, includes toileting and showering, using hoisting.Active support in sport trainings locally and competitions away (may include overnight stay at hotel) and outings. Able to drive the client’s wheelchair accessible car would be preferable.Personal assistant in the local or nearby areas of CB21 preferred, to start immediately.You must be registered with HMRC as a self-employed worker or willing to arrange this (support can be given).

Support Worker preference
Active male or female with cheerful and positive outlook would be of great benefit to promote heathy mental mindset.Reliable, able to commit to this post on long term basis, can provide good & thorough support required, and being punctual are crucial for this post.Experience in supporting people with cerebral palsy would be an advantage but not necessary, with willingness to learn and passion to promote independence. Able to establish a close working relationship on a one-to-one basis.Reasonably active for physical support in sport trainings and outings, driving the client’s wheelchair accessible car to the venues.May have to be flexible with hours at times and able to get on well with the client, someone who is young at heart with a zest for life.
