Manor House School has an exciting opportunity for a qualified Speech and Language Therapist.The post holder will work creatively and dynamically to develop, manage, and deliver therapeutic services.
The Clinical Lead position is a specialised operational management role, meaning, there will be a requirement to manage the clinical department and deliver a speech and language service to children and young people.
The post holder will hold clinical responsibility, manage, and develop a multi-disciplinary team providing services of, but not limited to - Educational Psychology, Speech and Language Therapy, Occupational and Sensory Integration Therapy, Psychotherapy,Clinical Psychology and other appropriate professions as the school requires to meet the needs of our children and young people.The post holder will be responsible for the departments outstanding functionality.They will be able to maintain this througha substantial local resource being at their disposal, ensuring the service is responsive to referrals and makes an impact in the best interests of children and young people.
The Clinical Lead will be responsible for clinical implementation, monitoring and reviewing services and measuring impact of clinical services for our children and young people.They will ensure that clinical services are being offered at a universal, enhancedand specialist level of intervention, these range from clinical training to all staff to clinical assessment, and intervention.
Location: Manor House School caters for pupils aged 7-18 years. Pupils may have learning difficulties and/or low attainment that are associated with their SEMH/ASC needs. Pupils may have specific learning difficulties associated with ASC, a range of complexlearning and communication needs and additional needs such as dyslexia, dyspraxia and dyscalculia.
Essential Criteria:
- Recognised Speech & Language Therapy degree
- Valid and up to date HCPC Registration
- Registered member of RCSLT
- Previous experience of paid or voluntary work within a trauma or complex needs setting
- Clear and concise report writing relating to clinical and research activities
- Hold a full UK driving licence, with access to a car
- Experience within the specialist client group. (complex communication issues relating to autism, including language disorder, dyspraxia, sensory impairment, learning disabilities/difficulties and associated challenging behaviour)
- Experience of multi-professional work with teams or services within the designated speciality preferred.
- Ability to work independently
