With the ever-increasing number of treatments and care we give to patients, our professional and dedicated Healthcare Team at our **Day Sugary Ward, St. Marys Portsmouth**, have a need for an additional **Bank - Healthcare Assistant** to join them.

In this **Healthcare Assistant** position, you’ll be supporting the Healthcare Team in delivering high quality care to patients with urgent medical needs.
This position will be a busy one, you will be working in a fast-paced environment, where you’ll be providing that individual patient cantered care coupled with that efficient and effective service.
**This is a Bank, casual position / ad-hoc position**
**offering flexible hours from 07:30 to 17:30, between Monday and Friday.**
**What you'll be doing**:
As one of our **Healthcare Assistants**, you will be ensuring that our patients receive a high standard of care by completing routine patient observations and carrying out pre and post operative care duties that will be relevant to each individual patient.
This **Healthcare Assistant **position will be hands-on, seeing you supporting nurses and other healthcare professionals with the overall responsibility for all patients within the department.
As the **Healthcare Assistant**, you will need to be conscious of health, safety and hygiene aspects on the word, practicing good infection prevention and control methods. Not only will you look to make sure the ward is clean, you will monitor and look for potential hazards, ensuring they are made safe or the issue is quickly brought to the attention of the ward manager.
In addition, you’ll assist with the management of stock control on the word, completing medication and surgical check lists, ensuring good levels and ordering when appropriate, pre-empting any shortfalls.
**What we’ll look for in you**:
It is envisaged that the appointed **Bank - Healthcare Assistant** will have past working experience in a hospital / surgical environment and might have already completed the NVQ level 1&2 in Health and Social Care or equivalent.
