Timeout is looking to appoint a Teaching Assistant to help our learners re-engage with learning and education within a specialist school setting. Someone who thrives to help others, patient and resilient would be perfect for this role. We currently have three schools; Elland House School (Ofsted rated good with Outstanding features), Riverbank Primary School (Ofsted rated good with Outstanding features) and a recently opened Brearley Hall school set in a beautiful 44 acres of woodland.
We are an independent SEMH School with an emphasis on the secure base model and have a therapeutic approach to our children, many of whom have suffered severe trauma and been excluded from all other educational provision.
Responsible to: The Schools Lead Teacher
**We are looking for**:

- Has a GCSE or equivalent in English and Maths.
- Experience of working with SEMH children is desirable, however enthusiasm and willingness to promote effective, inclusive education for children with SEMHs valued.
- Someone who can work closely within a team and can be an effective team player.
- Someone who is compassionate, enthusiastic with a passion to promote a healthy and happy learning environment.
- Someone who understands a therapeutic approach or a willingness to embrace the Timeout approach into their pedagogy.
- Experience of working with highly challenging behaviours.
- Emotional resilience and motivated by challenge.
- Experience in assisting in Individual Education Plans
- A consistent and firm approach to classroom support.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills and a commitment to collaborative working.
- Strong ICT skills
- Adaptable and the ability to cater to every individuals needs.
- A passion to make a difference to the lives of our young people.
- Ability to be reflective, dynamic and creative in their practice.
