Metering Operative

**The role**
The primary role is the installation and repair of water meters by excavating in all surfaces by hand and the reinstatement required to complete the works on the same day.
Reporting to the Site Supervisor ensuring that operations are carried out on time, to specification and to Health, Safety, Quality and Environmental legal requirements, standards and current best practice.
**Key accountabilities**
Complete productivity targets set for each gang.
- Ensure works programs are met-drive production without compromising safety or quality.
- Operate company systems and procedures
- Maintain compliance with works, Red book, App usage, PDA’s, NRSWA.
- Complete all mandatory requirements for photographic evidence of job progress and all other instances stipulated by UU
- Report all issues with PDA to Support Analyst
- Ensure UU audit regime is compliant
- Communicate to Streetworks team around all job on and off site times
- Ensure all work completed is to the desired quality set out in the contract and to Amey Standards
- Effectively reacting and communicating any changes in work activities external parties
- Participate in 1-2-1’s with supervisors and provide feedback if required and co-operation in performance plans
- Liaise with client (UU) and customers to deliver excellent customer service
- Liaise with supervisor to ensure operatives’ workload is planned in the most efficient and effective manner
**Skills & experience**
NRSWA
- Knowledge of External metering
- A Good understanding of operation activities and trade skill
- Experience of a similar role in a construction environment
