Darlington Rugby Football Club is a thriving grassroots sports and community venue, hosting a variety of events throughout the year. In addition to rugby match days, we regularly host weddings, birthdays, funerals, charity events, and more. As a proud supporter of grassroots sports, our club also welcomes Darlington Football Club, Young Bulls, and archery events. We are looking for motivated and flexible casual staff to join our team, providing both bar and food service at our diverse range of events.
- **Bar Service**:

- Serve alcoholic and non-alcoholic drinks to customers in a professional and efficient manner.
- Ensure the bar is clean, fully stocked, and prepared for service.
- Provide excellent customer service, maintaining a welcoming atmosphere.
- Handle cash and card transactions accurately using the till system.
- Adhere to all licensing laws and club policies, including the responsible sale of alcohol.
- **Food Service**:

- Serve food to guests during events, including hot and cold buffet-style service, match day meals, and formal dining.
- Maintain high standards of hygiene and food safety, ensuring all food is served promptly and to specification.
- Assist with food preparation and service set-up, as required.
- Clear tables, maintain cleanliness of the dining area, and assist with dishwashing and restocking when necessary.
- **Event Support**:

- Set up and clear down bar and food areas before and after events such as weddings, funerals, birthdays, charity events, and sports match days.
- Assist in managing busy periods, particularly during large-scale events and matches.
- Work collaboratively with colleagues to ensure smooth event operations, delivering an excellent experience for guests.

**Essential Requirements**:

- Must be 18 years or older (due to alcohol licensing laws).
- Previous experience in hospitality, bar work, or food service preferred but not essential—full training will be provided.
- A flexible approach to working hours, with availability to work evenings, weekends, and on short notice.
- Strong communication and customer service skills.
- Ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced environment, particularly during large events and match days.
- A positive attitude, willingness to be part of a dynamic team, and readiness to multitask.

**Desirable**:

- Experience working in a bar, restaurant, or event setting.
- Knowledge of food hygiene standards and safe food handling practices.
- Interest in sports, particularly rugby, football, or archery.
