**Salary: Grade 4, £24,790 - £25,992 per annum. £12.85 - £13.47 per hour**

**Your role**:
The main responsibilities of the role are:

- To carry out loading duties on designated waste collection rounds, including the safe collection, emptying and return of containers to the point of collection.
- Safe loading of collection containers onto collection vehicle’s lift mechanism in accordance with the manufacturer’s instructions.
- Assist the Driver in safe manoeuvring of vehicle whilst on the round for example reversing, back street manoeuvres or around parked vehicles.You will be required to carry out a full range of duties across Waste Services, including bin delivery / bin repair and cleansing duties.The post-holder will be based at Makerfield Way Depot and will be required to work flexibly in line with demands of Waste Services.

This role is essential in ensuring we deliver a quality cost effective recycling / waste collection service to the residents of the borough, you will promote our waste collection policy and encourage residents to recycle more / recycle right, the current recycling rate is around 52% but the Council has commitment to achieve a target of over 60% by 2035.
