Mash Direct is an award winning producer of gluten free mash and vegetable convenience products that are retailed throughout the UK and Ireland.
The Company is now recruiting within our Technical team. We are seeking a highly organised Technical Administrator and an experienced Technical Assistant.
Both posts require a strong understanding of HACCP/SOP's/GMP's, food safety as well as the ability to work collaboratively with various departments including Production.

Applicants should have previous experience of working in a technical role and of reporting and maintaining accurate records for the purposes of internal and external audit compliance.

Both roles will act as controllers on the safety and quality of Mash Direct products before distributing for the consumer market. Applicants will be qualified, self-motivated, hardworking, meticulous in detail and have excellent communication skills with previous food handling and or quality / technical work experience.

Degree level qualification in the food, drinks or agri business is desirable but not essential as full training will be provided by the team.

**What you will be doing**:
Your job will be varied and include the following:

- Carrying out a regular programme of audits (e.g. on a daily, weekly, monthly schedule)
- Raising any non-conformances in the quality process from intake to despatch - ensuring that all reasonable precautions are taken to avoid contamination of product
- Overseeing the label printing process elements for accuracy of shelf life and traceability
- Carrying out food safety and QC inspections on raw materials at intake & at key product process points
- Carrying out spot checks on weight control to ensure levels are kept within tolerance levels
- Supporting the production team to get things done and recorded correctly and making sure that everyone complies with food safety and quality procedures
- Supporting with the creation of new products
- Facilitating regulatory (BRC, EHO) & customer visits to the factory
- Complying and adhering with health and safety requirements within the company (PPE)
- Conducting organoleptic testing on the factory floor
- Ensuring food safety and quality records are completed on time and in full

**Hours of Work**:
Monday to Friday, 40 hours per wk. Flexibility on hours of work shift pattern.

**Rate of Pay**:
Dependent on experience
