**_Recra are working in partnership_** with a well established Precision Engineering Business who are looking to recruit a Senior Buyer to join their team.

The role would suit an individual that has enthusiasm and drive to support a fast growing business with an impressive order book.

**Overall Purpose of the Role**:
Providing support in all Purchasing activities related to the fulfillment of customer orders ensuring materials and Production activities meet customer requirements through the active management of the suppliers.

**Duties**:

- Develop/support the implementation of strategic purchasing plans, ensuring supplier expectations are clearly defined and suppliers are committed to achieving goals and objectives in the areas of Quality, Cost Competitiveness (total delivered cost) and Delivery.
- Drive/Develop the purchasing processes that will strengthen the quality of supplier relationships by identifying opportunities to continuously improve the effectiveness of communications and supplier relationship management activities.
- Ensure ALL Suppliers can meet the requirements of customers (internal/external) for the supply of Materials at the right quality and right time.
- Promote and encourage cross functional participation within Quality, Logistics, Engineering and Manufacturing in order to maximize total cost reduction and technical optimization.
- Actively manage sourcing activities via management of RFQ’s key sourcing processes and quotation analysis/negotiation in a time efficient manner.
- Develop and maintain a strong industrial awareness through investigation of new supply markets and assessing supplier’s capability, monitoring the Markets Index to ensure material pricing is in line with market expectations
- Monitor and maintain supply lines for materials and nominated services to ensure they are ‘fit for purpose’ in line with business requirements.
- Administration and maintenance of company purchasing data

**Skills and Experience**:

- Experience of procurement within a Manufacturing environment (preferably Aerospace, Defense or Automotive) - Essential
- Managing key suppliers and identifying potential alternatives - Essential
- Identifying and managing cost reduction initiatives - Essential
- Strong Negotiation skills - Essential
- Developing supply strategies and working with procurement to ensure smooth flow of materials in to the business - Essential
- Managing Non-Conformity Report’s and working with suppliers and other departments within the business to implement robust corrective actions - Essential
- Maintaining I.T system accurate and up to date with current purchasing parameters - Essential
- Previous experience of presenting/generating reports and analyzing purchasing data - Essential
- Excellent Planning and Organization - Essential
- Strong Commercial awareness - Essential
- Strong interpersonal skills and strength of character to implement and drive through change - Essential
- Detailed and thorough approach to all aspects of work - Essential
- Ability to present and communicate at all levels within an organization - Essential
- Full clean driving license - Essential
