Mpeople Recruitment have a fantastic new opportunity for an experienced **Buyer (Procurement)** to join a market-leading manufacturing business based in **Middleton (M24).** This is a great opportunity to join a forward-thinking yet well-established business that offer training and great opportunities for progression, as well as various other employee benefits.
- Location: Middleton
- Salary: £28,000 - £32,000 dependent on experience
- Hours: 8.30am - 5.30pm, Monday to Thursday, & 8.30am - 4.30pm Fridays

As the Buyer, your day-to-day duties would include:

- Attending handover meetings as and when required.
- Assisting the sales team with new enquiries to help find the best most cost-effective route.
- Working closely with project co-ordinators.
- Responsible for the procuring of parts for new projects as well as standard stocked products.
- Dealing with metal fabricators to obtain the best possible prices and lead times.
- Reviewing and maintaining stock levels of aluminium extrusions.
- Reviewing and maintaining stock levels of LED Tapes, PCB’s and Drivers.
- Finding cost savings by negotiating with current and new suppliers.
- Processing purchase orders.
- Obtaining quotes from suppliers and feeding information back to the relevant departments.
- Assisting finding new suppliers.
- Setting up and maintaining stock records.
- Maintaining relationships with existing suppliers.
- Working with our quality team to review supplier performance.
- Manage price change/information changes.
- Assisting with the biannual inputting of stock take
- Assisting with the maintenance of our central materials library.
- Assisting with implementation of potential new stock system.

The required traits, skills, and background to be considered for this Buying role are:

- Previous experience in a Buying/Purchasing position is essential
- Previous experience within a manufacturing company would be desirable
- Strong IT Skills - experience using Sage 200 would be advantageous
- Good Excel Skills
- Excellent communication skills and the ability to negotiate
- Excellent organisation and multi-tasking skills
- Thrives from working within a fast-paced environment
