**Job overview**:
We are seeking to appoint an exceptional teacher of Chemistry, to join us as Head of Chemistry and contribute to the ongoing development of the faculty.

A commitment to promoting the highest possible academic success and all-round development of our students is essential. This is an excellent opportunity for an ambitious, talented and well-motivated teacher to join our large, innovative and supportive Science faculty.

You will:

- Be an outstanding classroom practitioner; committed to achieving and sustaining high standards of Learning and Teaching.
- Have an enthusiastic and inspirational approach to the delivery of Science across the full 11-18 age range.
- Have positive classroom management skills, high expectations and a commitment to the best possible outcomes for all pupils.
- Be highly motivated and self-driven with the ability to work with other high achieving professionals.
- Be active and involved in the extra-curricular life of the faculty.
- Have existing middle leadership experience, or be ready to take the next step into leadership.

Knutsford Academy provides secondary education to over 1200 students aged from 11 to 18 in the historic town of Knutsford, less than 20 miles from the centre of Manchester and minutes from the M6 motorway. Students arrive in Year 7 from the local primary schools in Knutsford and we also attract a number of students from the south Manchester and Northwich areas. The school formed in 1953 as Knutsford High School and still operates from the original site in the centre of the town, it transferred to Academy status in 2012.

**Knutsford Academy and Cheshire Studio School are part of The Learning Partnership.**

The Learning Partnership is a new multi-academy trust that was formed on 1st September 2023 as a merger between The Learning Alliance and The Learning for Life Partnership. **The Knutsford Academy Team**

Knutsford Academy is led by Headteacher Karen Key, who oversees the strategy and running of the school. There are currently over 60 teachers at the school and a support team who all work collectively to deliver the very best for our students.

**Professional Development**

We provide a range of training programmes through our own teacher training school, including a PGCE run in partnership with Liverpool John Moores University, together with a personal development programme for those looking to progress to the next step, offering the NPQML and NPQSL, run in partnership with the Star Institute.
