Import Seafreight Operator

Freightserve are looking for an experienced Import Seafreight Operator. The company are a well established Freight Forwarder based in the Birmingham area.

Duties:

- Process and manage import deep sea shipments
- Complete all relevant import paperwork
- Complete HM Customs import entries.
- Manage customer queries
- Arrange deliveries of freight with haulage companies
- Negotiate ad hoc rates with suppliers
- Invoice shipments
- Other duties as assigned by Manager/ Supervisor

Skills required for the role:

- Previous Freight Forwarding Administrative experience
- Knowledge of Logistics and Transportation Market
- Working experience of Export and Import Licensing requirements
- Financial awareness re: shipping process (cost, profit / loss, currencies)
- Educated to GCSE level, with grade 5 or above in Maths and English
- Proficient User of MS Office (Word, Outlook, Excel)
- Good communication skills
- Self-motivated and enthusiastic approach to work
- Highly organised with great attention to detail
