Senior Building Physics Engineer

There are a lot of Leeds companies looking for a Senior Building Physics Engineer that will just be carrying out assessments all day, or say they are when the post is actually a thinly veiled Breeam Assessor post. This is neither, it is very much the real deal. For a start you'll be joining a leading Architects practice, so you will have influence over schemes from day one and direct contact with the actual client. Sector wise, they are established with residential (including care homes, social housing and residential), hotels (chain and boutique) as well as several varieties of retail organisations. This gives you scope to not just create environmental benefit, but alsosocial good. You will be working as part of the whole team, not be out on a limb, with particular involvement with their Passivhaus designers and acting a knowledge base to Breeam, WELL and Nabers Assessors. It is worth noting that working as a Breeam Assessor is theirrole and a long way from yours Your role will be more about: - Developing awareness of building physics within the company and teaching what "good" really looks like. - Meeting with existing clients to discuss what building physics can do for them and their projects success. - Helping to develop the practices own sustainability policies. - Assist with preparing fees and budgets for existing and new clients. - Developing an independent client base for building physics with full management and marketing support - you won't be expected to magic it up from thin air You will obviously need to be a confident Senior Building Physics Engineer who is used to carrying out dynamic thermal modelling, climate and future weather analysis, airflow and natural ventilation analysis as well as looking after daylighting calculationsetc. What you will also need to have is the desire to be more than a Senior Building Physics Engineer; you have scope to be a genuine business leader here within an already very successful organisation. The business plan is for you to join in January and be recruiting for your first team member in the third quarter of the year once you have had chance to establish yourself internally and with existing clients. You will be fully supported with marketing and expected to carry out presentations at networking sessions within the Leeds area and beyond, produce case studies and meet with existing clients to show them how you can develop their buildings and improve occupantsatisfaction. Your package includes salary between £45000 and £55000, a company car/allowance and a profit related pay element based upon projects that you bring in to the practice as well as enhanced paternity/maternity benefits, income protection insurance and other elementsthat you rarely see in less people focused or values led organisations.
