**Job description**

Night housing support worker. evening shift available. 8pm -8am.

12 hour shifts available
- **Tuesday and Sunday**. Essential you are able to do these shifts.

An opportunity for a Night housing support worker with Headway Housing.

working in a 2/ 6 bedroom accommodation with young people aged 16-24 Looked after children.

ESSENTIAL - EXPERIENCE OF WORKING WITH VULNERABLE PEOPLE.

The post holder will be part of Supported Housing Team within Headway Housing. The post holder will be responsible for ensuring the security of the Supported Housing Project and the delivery of support to those living in our Service.

Key

**Responsibilities**:

- Ensure that the security of the project is maintained throughout the course of the night shift, in compliance with Headway Housing Policies and Procedures.
- Ensure that all residents follow the rules and ethos of the project, liaising with Supported Housing Officers and Supported Housing Team Leader where breaches have occurred. Develop and implement an induction process for all new residents that covers the rules and ethos of the project in line with handbook.
- Ensure that all communal areas/offices are clean and tidy and ready for business next day.
- Work in partnership with key stakeholders such as police, out of hours social services and health services.
- Offer support as appropriate to meet the presenting needs of clients throughout the shift.
- Liaise, where necessary, with other professionals regarding the support needs of residents, in line with Headway Housings confidentiality policy and procedure.
- Develop appropriate ways of working with residents that reflect their needs, and contribute towards the completion of goals and tasks indentified in support plans.
- Liaise with Supported Housing Officers to ensure that support plans are reviewed at regular intervals and recorded.
- Support to ensure rental income is maximised.
- Liaise with Residential support workers and Supported Housing Team Leader to conduct risk assessments and developing management plans. Sharing information about changes to these appropriately.
- Ensure that house rules are maintained at the project and instigate appropriate action in line with Headway Housing’s warnings and evictions policy and procedure.
- Implement the Headway Housing health and safety policy and procedure ensuring that regular checks are carried out within the project on a daily basis and recorded accurately.
- Ensure that all repairs are reported accurately in a timely manner to the Supported Housing Officers / service manager.
- Develop resident involvement activities with the aim to support the team in the delivery of the support.
- Carry out regular monitoring of resident satisfaction and implement any findings.
- Carry out all necessary administration in relation to casework and ensure that detailed case notes kept for each resident.
- Contribute to the development of the new service and associated policies in conjunction with the service manager.
- Adhere to risk management plans and ensure accurate and timely incident recording.

Organisational and Team Duties
- To perform as part of the Headway Housing team, attending and participating in regular team meetings, attend appropriate training courses and participate in skills sharing sessions within the team.
- To participate in regular case-conferences and supervision. This could be out of your regular working hours.
- At all times adhere to relevant legislation, good practice and policies and procedures, including Health and Safety, Confidentiality and Equal Opportunities.
- At all times adhere to safeguarding procedures processes which have been tailored to each resident.
- To provide cover for sickness and leave as required

Monitoring and Administration
- Keep full and accurate records, produce statistical and analytical information for monitoring purposes and carry out all necessary administration in relation to casework.
- To carry out all necessary administration in relation to casework task including monitoring, and participate in Headway Housing service evaluation audits.
- To carry out any other duties necessary to the smooth running of the project.
- Prepare and present clear verbal / written reports as required.

**Job Types**: Part-time, Permanent

**Salary**: £16,000.00-£16,500.00 per year

Ability to commute/relocate:

- bd7 1ba: reliably commute or plan to relocate before starting work (preferred)

**Experience**:

- working with vulnerable people: 1 year (preferred)
- Support Worker: 1 year (preferred)
