Kitchen Assistant

**Job Summary**
This position is perfect for individuals who are passionate about cooking and eager to learn more about the culinary arts in a fast-paced environment.
The opportunity to complete training via an apprenticeship is also available.
Training is completed ‘on the job’ with supervision and mentoring by the Head Chef
**Responsibilities**
- Assist in the preparation of meals, including chopping, slicing, and assembling ingredients.
- Maintain cleanliness and organisation of the kitchen area, ensuring all surfaces are sanitised.
- Support chefs and cooks by providing necessary ingredients and tools during meal preparation.
- Help with the plating of dishes and ensure that meals are presented attractively.
- Follow food safety guidelines to ensure the highest standards of hygiene are maintained.
- Assist with inventory management by checking stock levels and reporting any shortages.
- Participate in catering events as needed, contributing to menu planning and execution.
- Collaborate with team members to ensure efficient kitchen operations.
**Qualifications**
- Previous experience in a kitchen or restaurant setting is preferred but not essential.
- Basic knowledge of food preparation techniques and culinary terminology.
- Understanding of food safety practices and regulations.
- Ability to work effectively in a team environment while also being able to take initiative when required.
- Strong organisational skills with attention to detail.
- A passion for cooking and willingness to learn new skills within the culinary field.
- Flexibility to work various shifts as needed, including evenings and weekends.
Pay: £12.67-£12.90 per hour
