**Location: Selkirk, Scottish Borders**
**Contract: Fixed term for 4 years of apprenticeship, with the prospect of a permanent position upon completion**
**Hours: Monday to Friday, 37 hours per week**

SBHA are looking for a motivated and enthusiastic individual to join our team as an Apprentice Joiner. This is an excellent opportunity to gain hands-on experience in the joinery trade while working towards an industry-recognised qualification.
You’ll work alongside experienced joiners and other trades on a wide range of projects while attending college to complete your apprenticeship framework. Over four years, you’ll develop the skills, knowledge and confidence to become a qualified joiner.
At the end of the apprenticeship, there are good prospects to move into a permanent position within the organisation.
The successful applicant will start in post July/August 2025 and will be paid in accordance with the Real Living Wage.
**Key Responsibilities**:
- General Joinery work associated with the repair and maintenance of the Association’s and other properties
- Attend College as required in accordance with the College Programme. No annual leave will be authorised during College Term time.
- Carry out all work instructions allocated to you timeously, in the order identified and to an acceptable quality standard and within the timescales allocated.
- Work with other Trades on projects and contracts.
- Adhere to all Health and Safety guidelines for the safety of yourself and others.
- A strong commitment to pursuing a career in joinery.
- Good standard of education, including English and Maths at National 5 level or equivalent (SCQF level 5).
- Must pass SBATC Aptitude Test.
- Able to demonstrate a background knowledge of the skills applicable to the trade.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Commitment to safety and quality in all tasks.
- Must have full clean current UK driving licence at the end of the apprenticeship.
