**About The Role**:
**Introduction and overall purpose of the role**

To support the Estates Manager with the operation of the whole Estates process

**Main responsibilities include**:
Carrying out a range of seasonal gardening and grounds maintenance duties.

To ensure the work is carried out safely to specification and to the customer’s satisfaction. To take responsibility for the upkeep of the ground’s maintenance of the ICC/UAB.

**Main Duties & Responsibilities of the Role**
- To carry out all tasks with due regard to the contract specification and all legislation including Health & Safety, & personal hygiene
- The Estates Groundman is responsible for ensuring the standards of work are consistent and compliant with those in the specification and that a quality service is provided in the most cost-effective way.
- To ensure company provided uniform is kept clean & tidy and is always worn whilst at work. Identity badge must always worn & visible
- Ensure all services are delivered safely in line with all OCS operating standards, reporting all accidents & dangerous occurrences, and resolving them where appropriate
- Cut grass using ride-on mowers, pedestrian mowers, and strimmer’s.
- Hedge cutting, weeding, pruning, shrub bed maintenance and other seasonal activities.
- Be responsible for the general tidiness of the site.
- Ensure all equipment used is maintained & safe, reporting any issues to the Manager/Supervisor.

**Educational Level**

Good standard level of education required
- **Experience -desirable/ but not essential as training will be given.**
- A good awareness of Health and Safety regulations
- Good verbal and written communication skills
- Experience of grounds maintenance with knowledge of horticulture preferred, but not essential.
- Self-motivation with the ability to use own initiative.
- A full UK driving license.
- A chainsaw license would be advantageous but not essential. **Personal Characteristics/Attributes**

- Able to work as part of a team or lone working.
- Good organisational skills, able to prioritise & effectively manage multiple tasks at the same time.
- Flexible approach to work, plus good attention to details.
- Excellent Time keeping & Attendance.
- Able to follow all policies & procedures to ensure a safe working environment.
