**We have recently opened two office bases in Bloxwich (Walsall) and Shepshed (Loughborough) and are looking for an enthusiastic Band 4 Assistant Psychologist (full-time, fixed term post for 12 months) to split their time between these two teams to help us deliver our high-quality clinical services.**
**Assistant Psychologist (Band 4)**
- **It is essential for the appointment of this post that you have**:_
- _**Undergraduate degree 2:1 or above which confers Graduate Basis for Registration (GBR) of the British Psychological Society**_
- _**Drivers licence and access to a vehicle to allow for work to be split across two office bases located in Bloxwich (Walsall) and Shepshed (Loughborough); plus willingness to undertake further travel in the Midlands as necessary (reimbursed at 45p per mile).**_
**Job Description and Person Specification**
To support qualified clinicians in delivering services to families e.g:
- Managing and co-ordinating the setting-up of psychological and sensory assessments
- Undertaking clinical interviews with professionals as part of assessments
- Undertaking school observations across the Midlands
- Scoring psychometric measures and analyzing outcome data
- Managing our outcome database
- Preparing and contributing to reports
The role will continue to develop in response to service need and may therefore include:
- Co-facilitating groups and / or training
- Supporting clinicians to develop resources and training packages
- Maintain the high reputation of the service
- Work within the service needs of a Social Enterprise:
Ensure that work is of high quality and meets the commercial needs of the service
Reach the productivity targets set by management
Play an active role in promoting and advocating for the service
- Ensure that all TCPS policies and procedures are understood and put into practice.
- Attend and actively participate in staff development sessions, team meetings, individual or group supervision, clinical supervision and other meetings as required.
- To work flexibly and occasionally work unsocial hours to meet the needs of the service as required.
- To undertake any other duties as required in line with the scope and spirit of the job purpose, the title of the post and its grading.

**QUALIFICATIONS AND REGISTRATION**:
Undergraduate degree 2:1 or above which confers Graduate Basis for Registration (GBR) of the British Psychological Society - **Essential**
**EXPERIENCE OF**:
Working psychologically with children, families and the systems around them. - **Desirable**
Using standardised and non-standardised assessment tools - **Desirable**
Working in a professional team - **Desirable**
Writing clinical letters and reports - **Desirable**
General CAMHS work - **Desirable**
**SKILLS AND ABILITIES**:
An empathic, non-judgmental approach to children, families, professionals and peers - **Essential**
A compassionate approach to behavioural difficulties - **Essential**
Excellent verbal and written communication skills - **Essential**
Competent with Microsoft Word, Excel and general computing **Essential**
Excellent administration skills i.e. ability to manage / co-ordinate appointments both internally and externally to TCPS**:

Work independently, using own initiative appropriately within defined boundaries of work**:

**KNOWLEDGE**:
Up to date knowledge of relevant legislation, research and literature in relation to Looked After and Adopted Children - **Essential**

Willingness to work some (infrequent) flexible hours i.e. outside typical office hours as business dictates**:
