The Short Break Service offers care for Children with Different Abilities.
- Waking Watch Night Support - £11.39 rising to £12.47 after 5 years service +33% weekend enhancement & +25% night rate.

We are now recruiting for Residential Support Workers (Waking Watch) in South Ribble.

With an emphasis on working creatively, we promote lots of fun activities for our children inside and outside the homes and ensure that our children and young people are supported to develop in all areas of life.
**_Could you work in a Residential Overnight Breaks Children's Home?
- **
**Residential Child Care Workers (RCCW) **, work in a children's home where children and young people aged between 0 years and 17 years visit for respite care. An important part of the role is acting as keyworker to a child and their family, developing care plans, risk assessments and attending meetings with other professionals.
You will support the personal care needs of each child. You will learn non-parent carer medical skills and understand how to manage conditions such as epilepsy and asthma. You would be the child's voice and learn how to communicate effectively with pre-verbal children using total communication methods, which may include systems such as Sign along and Picture Exchange Communication Systems.
You will be able to develop fun relationships with the children and encourage their social development. You will be able to offer appropriate activities to promote increased wellbeing and feelings of self-worth.
Residential Child Care Workers eat and sleep at the home (on a rota basis) with the children and young people and undertake household tasks including cleaning, cooking, shopping.
As a waking watch Residential Support Worker (RSW or waking watch) you would work through the night monitoring and supporting the same young people with on-call sleep-in staff onsite. You would contribute to care plans to promote a positive sleep pattern.
There will also be a requirement once trained to receive and dispense medication in line with our medication policy and deliver personal care promoting dignity and independence during the children and young people's stays.
