**Job Summary**
The University of Manchester Students’ Union & Manchester Academy Venues are recruiting for a cleaning supervisor role. The cleaning supervisor is a newly created role following the Union bringing their cleaning service in house. The role is responsible for ensuring excellent cleaning standards are maintained across the building and our four live music venues and helping to create great visitor experiences. The cleaning supervisor is supported by and will manage the team of cleaning staff.

The annual salary band for this role starts at £10,244 which equates to £13.33 an hour. We offer an excellent package of benefits including 30 days of annual leave plus Christmas close days (or equivalent) and bank holidays. The contracts hours are annualised meaning that an average of 15 hours per week are worked across the year. However, there is also one vacancy that consists of 25 hours per week.

We have a lot of different activity in the building from student society events to live music. Typically the busiest part of the year is October and November. Our busiest days will see live music events in all of the venues with customers visiting our catering and bar outlet all through the day. All cleaning staff are on annualised hours and this role will need to manage those hours across the full year to ensure that staff are scheduled to meet the needs of the business. The building opens at 6am for morning cleaning and evening shifts end at 11pm with cover being required during live music events, with occasional club nights with a later closing time. In order to provide great service it is essential that the team are well equipped.

**Hours and Working Pattern**
There are **three roles at 15 hours per week** and **one role at 25 hours per week**.
Shifts are scheduled across **seven days**, including weekends. Typical shift patterns include:

- **6am - 9am, Monday to Friday**:

- **7am - 11am, Saturday and Sunday**:

- **Evening and weekend shifts: 5pm - 11pm**

Applicants should be prepared for early morning, evening, and weekend working as part of a regular rota.
