Interim Financial Controller

Are you a Housing Finance specialist available to support a successful HA in an interim capacity as they go through year end? Do you want a role in which you’ll be a key point of contact for the external auditors, working mostly remotely if desired? Canyou add value in a broad range of areas within Financial Services?
My client is a medium sized Housing Association, currently going through year end and audit rapidly approaching. Owing to some internal change, they are seeking an Interim Financial Controller to bolster the team for an initial three month contract, withkey responsibilities being:
- Play a leading role in the year end process, ensuring that the input for regulatory returns is accurate and up to date
- Oversee payroll processing and reconciliations are accurately performed
- Lead on VAT and other tax returns
- Oversee fixed asset accounting, ensuring the fixed asset registers are accurate and up to date ready for scrutiny from auditors
- Ensure an environment of sound financial control, inputting to ongoing systems projects as well as ensuring the balance sheet is appropriately reconciled on a regular basis.
- Be a fully qualified accountant with experience either leading or supporting on year end in the Housing sector
- Have strong interpersonal skills and a proven ability to liaise with internal and external stakeholders such as external auditors
- Ideally have an aptitude for finance systems and experience in assisting in upgrades.
