**Overview**

The Community Pharmacy Services Support Officer will provide a key supporting role across a range of strategic projects in community pharmacy within Somerset. This will involve strong partnership working across the ICS, our local trust, local authority, primary care networks (PCNs), GP practices and community pharmacies.

The position is for 16 hours per week on a fixed term contract, initially for 18 months. The equivalent full time salary is £28,407 - pro-rated to £11,363 for 16 hours.

**Key responsibilities**

The Service Support Officer will contribute to integrate community pharmacies into primary care. They will work with key partners to ensure the safe, effective and efficient planning and progress services within the pharmacy profession. They will deliver the following core functions: - Support Pharmacies in the Delivery of the Community Pharmacy Contractual Framework (CPAF) - Support Pharmacies and to help maximize all service opportunities - Assist in service reviews, including utilisation of data for this purpose and ensure planning of actions and their implementation. - Develop a strong rapport with key stakeholders including PCN areas, ICB team. - Communicate agreed project plans and highlight any changes with stakeholders including NHS Somerset, General Practices and PCNs, Community Pharmacies, and other partners within the system.
- Access, review and interpret data and information related to pharmacy service delivery.
- Utilize appropriate IT systems.
- Have excellent communication skills to convey complex information.

**Key relationships**

Develop and maintain relationships with a range of stakeholders, including but not limited to: - ICB Primary Care Team - Community Pharmacy Somerset - Community Pharmacy Contractors and Teams - Primary Care Network and General Practice teams - Local medical committee - Local authority

**Planning and Organisation**

Actively monitor and update project plans to provide assurance to the Community Pharmacy Somerset Committee, Primary Care and Medicines Management teams.
- Managing and undertaking a range of pieces of work simultaneously, determining and seeking advice on the ICS priorities

**Service Development and governance**
- Keep up to date with new service development, changes to methodologies and approaches using a broad range of sources
- Support audit and evaluation of Community Pharmacy service delivery
- Work with partners and service users as part of any service review engagement or planned redesign, collating feedback and perspectives that can inform change
- Identify areas of good practice, areas for improvement and lessons learnt. Ensure these are shared with appropriate stakeholders.

**Education and Training Responsibilities**
- Support with the training and development of colleagues, internal and external, where needed
- Use national guidance and local plans and priorities to promote the culture of a learning organisation committed to delivering high quality of care and continuous improvement
- Act as a role model and Ambassador for the community pharmacy profession.

Must be a car driver with a valid driving licence or have access to transport with appropriate business insurance in order to travel to meet the needs of the job role.

**Qualifications / Education**

Registered pharmacy professional with experience of developing and delivering clinical pharmacy services (E)

Demonstrable evidence of continuing professional development (E)

Project management qualification or experience of project and change management processes (D)

**Knowledge & Skills / Physical Skills / Training**

Understanding the public sector, the NHS, community pharmacy and the complexities of system transformation programmes (E)

Current knowledge of best practice in community pharmacy integration (E)

Ability to work in a structured way to support the management and coordination of activity within a complex programme (E)

Ability to manage risks and produce easy to understand reporting (E)

Excellent working knowledge of all Microsoft Office packages (E)

**Previous experience**

Understanding and experience of development and implementation of clinical services in community pharmacy (E)
