To support the development of Postgraduate Schools.

The post holder will have line management responsibility and will work with the Senior Manager(s) and Recruitment and Programmes Leads and associated administrative staff to develop processes and procedures to support postgraduate training.

The post holder will work with stakeholders to ensure that all processes, on a planned and ad hoc basis, are carried out in line with local and national policies, procedures and legal requirements

We are currently offering an opportunity for a highly motivated and enthusiastic individual to join the Midlands Team as a Regional Programmes Lead for a temporary period.

The Regional Programmes Lead (Midlands) is a key role in the management, coordination and quality assurance of medical and dental specialty, sub-specialty and academic training programmes.

The role offers excellent opportunities for personal and professional development as part of a wider team providing leadership and management to the development of the future healthcare workforce in our region.

This is an evolving job role and working in liaison with business managers and colleagues the post holder will have the opportunity to influence and shape the role as it develops. Working closely with key stakeholders across the region the post holder will develop processes and procedures to support postgraduate training to ensure that processes are in line with local and national policies, procedures and legal requirements.

**Key Skills and Abilities**:

- Excellent leadership and motivational skills and the ability to develop a team
- Excellent communication skills (both verbal and written)
- Excellent organizational skills/time management and ability to prioritize own and team workload under pressure to tight deadlines
- Ability to work on own initiative and without direct supervision

Experience and Knowledge
- Staff supervision and management
- Significant demonstrable experience in an administrative role
- Demonstrable experience of using a range of IT, for extracting/analysing and presenting data
- Presenting information to groups (internal & external)
- Experience of working in a relevant setting; i.e. working with clinicians in postgraduate medical education and training or another relevant sector of the NHS
- Project Management in higher education, private sector or NHS
- Analysis and interpretation of information to prepare reports, make recommendations for change and influence business planning

Secondments

Salary Progression
Applicants will commence at the bottom of Band 7 with a full-time starting salary of £41,659, with pay step increases after 2 years’ service and 5 years’ service.
