**The Person**

This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced, bright and driven individual to join our growing team of strategy consultants. As a senior member of the team, you will be a passionate leader and an effective communicator. You will have proven your ability to influence change and deliver our purpose of helping business play its part in building a zero-carbon world.

You will have experience working in carbon offsetting markets, and you have been responsible for the development and implementation of a carbon offsetting consultancy business or service offering. You will have technical knowledge relating to our services and a strong understanding of how companies can achieve net-zero emissions. You have a wealth of knowledge around the carbon offsetting/ insetting market, including how to set up, finance and measure and verify projects and programmes.

**The Role**

Each week more and more organisations commit to becoming net-zero, driven by both a sense of purpose and ever-increasing pressure from their clients, investors, employees and other key stakeholders. Globally, Greta Thunberg’s words opened a dialogue where the role of business in planetary and human wellbeing has become front-page news.

You will be a senior member of the consulting team, leading work with our major clients in various sectors. You will be a specialist in Strategy services and will lead the development of our Carbon Offsetting services. Key responsibilities include the following:
Service development and delivery
- Leading our Carbon Offsetting service offering, including the implementation and development of this area of the business
- Leading strategic projects with clients to build and implement ambitious offsetting strategies that enable clients to transition to net-zero
- Scaling consultancy services through effective resourcing, developing processes and coaching the team

Stakeholder management
- Develop and maintain key stakeholder relationships both with clients and in the wider offsetting market
- Business development to expand our work with key clients and drive the growth of the company

Communication and people
- Ability to influence internal board-level stakeholders to drive decision-making to grow this area of the business effectively
- Empathy, intuition and influencing skills to draw out priorities, consolidate thinking and get buy-in to the proposed route forward
- Excellent presentation skills and ability to lead workshops with business leaders
- Leading teams and supporting colleagues with personal development

**Desired capabilities**
- 5 years+ relevant experience in climate change related work and extensive experience with carbon markets
- Technical knowledge of whole offset project lifecycle, from project ideation/creation, partnerships/business development, through to reporting and verification
- Ability to advise on the implementation of insetting projects, including the costs and carbon capture involved
- Have experience developing a new consultancy service offering within a business and leading on the implementation
- Consultancy experience
- Awareness of other strategy and reporting services (ESG disclosure, GHG calculation and reporting, sustainability strategy, science-based targets)
- Project and programme management experience
- Leading workshops and meetings
