Maintenance Supervisor

**Job Summary**:
To carry out practical, productive maintenance tasks to Company requirements, within the capability/skill level/qualification to the required standards. To take responsibility of maintenance on site and basic Health and safety compliance requirements. This role reports into the Maintenance/Facilities Manager UK&I with a sub reporting line to the General Manager of the Heathrow Unit. You will have daily oversight and supervision of the maintenance team and complete some administration tasks required for the management of the team. Working predominantly in the Heathrow area however, you will also be required to support the wider UKI business as and when required.

**Main Duties and Responsibilities**:

- Daily oversight and supervision of the Heathrow maintenance team
- Work proactively with all stakeholders including Operations Unit management, customers and contractors to ensure prompt completion of activities.
- Implementation of EHS&S compliance standards within the business units to ensure a minimum of legal, company and customer compliance standards.
- Support with investigations into accidents and incidents relating to FM activities and customer complaints.
- Support with risk assessments as applicable to Facilities Maintenance activities.
- Support commercial departments with technical input for customer tenders and visits.
- Must possess practical electrical, plumbing, and/or mechanical engineering skills and be able to complete maintenance work to the quality standard expected by the Company and to meet legal standards.
- Support the supervision of contractors and others.
- Ability to follow plans and instructions supplied by the Company/Client.
- Accurately record hours and materials used.
- When required act as the Company’s appointed person on site.
- Comply with all Company and Health and Safety requirements.
- Carry out maintenance activities including:

- Lamps and Bulb changes
- Changing of electrical equipment and fittings.
- Changing of mechanical equipment and parts.
- Changing of plumbing equipment and parts.
- General maintenance duties
- General gardening control
- Daily/Weekly PPM checks/testing
- Weekly emergency light testing
- Weekly Fire alarm testing
- Practical experience of at least one trade skill.
- Good communication skills, verbal and written.
- Able to work under pressure and unsupervised.
- Able to prioritise workload.

**Education**:

- Educated to General educational standards e.g., GCSE, A-Level.
- City and Guilds - Level 3 for a recognized trade, preferably electrical.

**Work Experience and Technical Skills**:

- Minimum of two years’ experience in a similar role in a supervisory capacity.
- Background experience within FM in the food industry is desirable.
- Good communications skills, both written and verbal.
- Experience and ability in compiling and presenting management reports.
- Flexible can-do approach to completing projects/work activities.
- Computer Literate e.g., Word, Excel.
- Ability to manage workload effectively and be organised with attention to detail and meet deadlines.
- The ability to work under own initiative and as part of a team.
- As this is a multi-site role, a UK Driving License is essential.

**Other Skills**:

- Understanding basic level of computer literacy, including Excel.
- Able to work as part of a team as well as under own initiative.
- Good standard of English, both written and verbal.
- Good communication skills.

**Mobility Requirements**:

- Valid driving licence and be able to satisfy the Company insurance criteria.
- Able to work nights/weekends/bank holidays/Company shutdowns when required.
- Able to obtain security clearance for airport working.
